Gt. Peter B. Avevor
Gt. Peter B. Avevor entered GSTS in 1987 and graduated in 1992. He is an experienced educator and an auditor. He has been actively engaged in GAA’s global and local Chapter (GAA-Takoradi) activities for many years. At the Global level, he served two terms as GAA (Global) Treasurer from 2019 to 2021 and 2021 to 2023. Due to term limits, he has stepped back into the role of 1st Deputy Treasurer (Global). Before serving at the Global level, Giant Avevor was the Interim Vice Chairman of the GAA-Takoradi Chapter. He also serves on the Fundraising Committee, Budget and Finance Committee, and the Endowment Fund Investment Committee.
As Global Treasurer, Gt. Avevor is responsible for the Association’s financial transactions and fundraising activities. He will share with us experiences, ideas, and fundraising facing the Association.
Gt. Peter also has rich experience as a former teacher at a second-cycle institution. At St. John’s School in Sekondi, he established a welfare system for the school’s staff. This system was so efficient that it became a blueprint for other Senior High Schools. He also has considerable experience working with the St. John’s Board of Governors and the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA).
Currently, Gt. Peter is a lecturer at Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU), Takoradi Campus, where he teaches Financial Accounting, Public Sector Accounting, and Taxation. He is also a facilitator at the Kwame Nkrumah University Science Technology (KNUST), Institute of Distance Learning, Takoradi Centre, and a Tutor in Financial Accounting at the University of Ghana; Legon, Distance Education, Takoradi Centre. Gt. Avevor also served as the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) treasurer, Sekondi Zone from 2014 to 2016.
Gt. Avevor holds a B.Ed. (Hon) Accounting Studies from the University of Education (UEW), Commonwealth Executive Master of Business Administration, and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). He lives in Takoradi with his wife and children.
